We are trying to capture our film but it keeps on freezing, what a nightmare? So for the time being we are discussing different ideas for our editing. To import our film we used a firewire which is attached to the camera and Imac. Whilst it was capturing, we were discussing a film title. We thought that to save time, we would organize our duties for the group. This was a time saver and well planned. There were many factors that effected the speed of capturing, including a low network connection, a depleted camera battery and an excessive amount of time gaps on the tape which made it take 10 times longer than it should have.
Day 2:
The editing is almost upon us after a frustrating day 1. Prior to editing, we are thinking about putting the sequences in order. We are going to choose the he best shots to include in our film. Looking back at the filming, it is a good laugh as there are many funny outtakes. This was quite time consuming and caused a bit of delay to the time we had to edit. When we started thinking of ideas about transitions and how to order the sequence, time flew.
Day 3:
The capturing is done and we are now beginning the edit. All our ideas have been put into writing and we have begun cutting out all unnecessary scenes. We have long amounts of footage to choose from and are cycling through them as this is being written. There are various pieces of footage being chosen and for the best. We have now reached the 2nd 3rd of our sequence and are cutting out small pieces of film that are irrelevant.
Day 4:
We have finally begun ordering the film and are editing for continuity. The process is taking quite a while as there is a lot of footage and we do not want to miss anything important. We are currently trying out different editing techniques and transitions. We find that it is really effective and helps give effect and meaning to the sequence. There are many types of effects that we are attempting to use and are testing them out individually.
Day 5
We have put together the sequence with an arrangement of transitions and edits we are looking into. There are many transitions we would like to use but very difficult to pull off; we are currently trying to decide whether we are making the right choice and are nearing our final decision.
Day 6
The penultimate day of editing is upon us where the film sequence is in order, transitions of scenes have been included and the finishing touches are being added. The ending of the sequence is almost all but done, we are currently cycling through fonts that may suit the film and nearing our decision.
Day 7
The final day is here and we are ready to export and upload the film. It has been a long journey and we're happy to say we have made it to the other side. I can only say that it has been worth it and the fact that we have finished it successfuly makes us very proud of the work we have produced.
